Job Description

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Procurement team with a Buyer for our CMDP (Southern Water) joint venture framework. Based at Falmer you will ensure that all required lant/materials/consumables are delivered on time, on cost and with a high level of quality.
CMDP is a joint venture between Costain & MWHT and will deliver a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & East Sussex). The individual projects are the design and construction of improvements to clean water and dirty water treatment plants, including pumping stations and sea outfalls. Individual projects within the programme will range in value from £250K up to £20M.
You will report directly to the Procurement Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include.
·Day-to-day management of procurement activities with all related actions executed in a timely and professional manner – plant and material delivered on time and within budget; and on quality; at all times. To ensure material is ordered through the approved supplier base.
·Raise requisitions where required for issue to the central procurement team.
·To support design/development of effective supply chain solutions, in line with procurement commodity requirements.
·Support the selection and development of suppliers via the supplier audit process.
·Support negotiation and management of supplier agreements.
·Identify any delays/problems and initiate corrective action as required to eliminate program and commercial risks.
·Ensure all information on suppliers is communicated in an accurate and timely manner, reflecting up-to-date delivery confirm dates at all times – inform the Planning department of all constraints / issues.
·Report all cost variances and lead-time time variances to the Procurement Manager in a timely manner.
·Ensure Procurement and company policies are followed, with particular reference to ethical standards.
·Assist the site teams with goods receipting as and when required.
·Keep an accurate log of our plant stock completing monthly audits with the site teams
·Provide commercial support with data collection on our internal finance systems.
·Good all round procurement and supply chain knowledge
·General Construction experience
·Preferably CIPS Qualified
